[Abstract] This article compares between contemporary pathogenicity and the signs and symptoms (as “Zhen” in Chinese Medicine)applied in Chinese Medicine. The author emphasizes that signs and symptoms (as “Zhen” in Chinese Medicine) are a reflection of systemic and specific reactions within one’s body. It is reflection of one’s “kilter”. “Kilter” ailments and pathogenicity of diseases are two entirely different aspects. The author iterates that “kilter” ailments should be studied with a different approach..
This article also elucidates four other different aspects pertaining to the clinical value of Chinese Medicine: (1) Simple kilter, (2)Clinical difficulties encountered by Orthodox Medicine,(3) Common diseases treated by Chinese Medicine and (4) Long and Short term treatment results of Chinese Medicine.
